How India made CAR-T for just $30,000
The inside story of ImmunoACT, whose Indian-made CAR-T therapy saved a young girl’s life and now costs around $30,000, compared with up to $500,000 in the United States. Ishwari Salunkhe was among the first children in India to receive CAR-T, around a decade after Emily Whitehead’s life was saved by the experimental treatment that went on to become the first FDA-approved CAR-T therapy.
